Last weekend a friend of mine rented a party room in a well-known pub here in Vienna for a birthday party. I had a chat with the DJ (friend of mine and EE) and suddenly noticed the wiring in the DJ booth.
Have a look for yourself...

That seems to be some kind of control panel.

The tag says "Don't touch!"...
Go figure...

I wonder what's running on those wires -- Speaker, control signals, power?

It does look rather typical of the sort of wiring one finds in places like this though. I once ran across a disco lighting unit in which the 240V outputs to the three light groups (base, mid, treble) were wired on the tips of separate 3.5mm jacks! [Linked Image]

Jesus Christ!

Well, from the "Don't touch" sign I guess it's 230V!

I couldn't get the pics to show this morning until I manually copied the URLs into my browser then they showed up. I thought it might just be a transient problem, but it looks as though it might be one of those awkward servers that won't always link directly.

I've changed the links to our own copies of the images, so you should see them now.

Thanks a lot Paul!
Seems they only allow hot-linking to their own boards. I hoped uploading them once would be enough.

Yuk. [Linked Image]

Why is it that such places always have such shoddy work...cost I suppose; cost and greed.

Not overly impressed by the shards of broken mirror glued to the panel/s either! [Linked Image]
