Just wondering how most of you bid. Is there a certain computer program or do all of you just have your own method?
Thanks, Joey

For any tasks above those one can do in their head, a spreadsheet application is hard to do without, and well worth the time getting familiar with its features.

One can always build on files previously set up. Scott35’s excel-format panel schedules are a superb example, even though not intended to cook financial information.

I use Electrical Bid Manager from Visionsoft I find it to be easy to acclimate to. They have a demo on their website

There are several free demos of estimating spreadsheets in the Classified Ads here.

Thanks for the reply's. I will look for one of these programs. I need something to help me get started in "bidding" part of the business.

I am an employee of Vision InfoSoft and enjoy reading what people talk about in the electrical industry. This forum is a great place for everyone to come together and chat about thier jobs, company, or even the latest joke they heard.

If you have any questions about anything, I'd be happy to help. Even if you have a question about a competitor's product, I would like to help you get started in the wonderful world of computer estimating. We have found that strong customer support (and of course good software) is what keeps our customers using and learning our software.
