taking it a step further......Many DIY'ers here have installed thier own service entrance from peak or pole.
The utility wil slap on a 'customer owned' sticker , check the GEC's and fire it up.
There is no 'inspection' per se'....

The common rebuttal being that the poco
( nec challenged) had hooked it up, thus it is ok.

worse.....the poco rep may have HANDED THE CUSTOMER THE DIAGRAM PICTORAL of the required install, which is simply a
picture inclusive of NO nec details...
