First I better make it clear that I don't intend to criticize anyone. I honestly wonder why some people prefer to write e-mails and messages in all caps. There must be some reason, since people everywhere on the educational ladder do. I FIND TEXT LIKE THIS DIFFICULT TO READ BUT MAYBE THAT IS NOT UNIVERSAL?

Maybe they are like cartoon people and have only three fingers on each hand, thus no pinkie fingers to press the shift keys.

I've often wondered the same thing!

All Caps is normally someone yelling, so it's kind of uncomfortable for me to read some messages in all-caps (Caps On).

If the person is new to Internet messaging (via usenet forums or e-mail), that person likely is unaware of the "All-Caps = Yelling" netiquette, and may prefer to type off-line documents (like word processor docs) with Caps Lock on.

I pointed out the all caps thing to a guy I was doing some business with and he said he did it all the time because it was easier and he wasn't about to change.

Maybe it makes it easier for slow typists, as they don't have to use the shift key so much (and if they typed in all lower case then be criticized for not capitalizing names etc.).

It doesn't really bother me that much. I remember when some terminals simply didn't have lower case letters!
