I am taking some classes on motors (want to increase what little knowledge I have of them) and we have been asked to define the following: Induction Start - Induction Run Capacitor Start - Induction Run Capacitor Start - Capacitor Run
Where can I find information and schematics of such motors? I did look at the "Schematics for Single Phase Split Phase Motors" (series 1-4). I think (there I go again) that these are the schematics I want, as I think that a:
Resistance Start Induction motor is the same as a Induction Start - Induction Run motor.
Capacitor Start Induction Motor is the same as a Capacitor Start - Induction Run motor.
Capacitor Start/Run Induction Motor is the same as a Capacitor Start - Capacitor Run motor.
A Google search will find you lots of general info. A visit to a tech school or college library will help also. An excellent reference book if you a so inclined would be 'Electric Motor Repair' by Rosenburg. It is still available (an old book) and can be purchased on Amazon.com both new and used.
Hi there Steve, Just as a note, Scott35 has a whole heap of schematics for motors of all kinds in the Technical Reference Area just below this one in the Main Forum list. There have also been a few discussions on motors at various times in this particular Area as well.
