I was just thinking again and there is another way of doing this....may seem like a hack but not. Either you can run 8-4 SJ Cord from the disconect to the unit, (this looks like it will fit under the connector). Or better, install a 4x4x4 J-Box inside some were you can get to it and have a wipp from that j box to the unit j box, maybe 2 feet total. That would require no modding...
