I thought you might like to have these for your album. The first one went up in flames as you can tell by the wall. I wonder how long the new one will last.

The ss connector is rated 3R when it is used below a meter. The meter protects the fitting from having water enter the "top." Of course the meter can being upside down doesn't help!

Bets on the next fire??

This is classic!

Scorch marks for previus meter explosion.
Liquid tight flex feed is the same from the fire before. Might be the same wire too.(Vandlism is "Subject to Physical Damage")
No ring on the meter, it was set under the cover, when this joker put the seal on himself, live at that maybe.

This is classic!

You said a mouth full there, in my opinion this is one of the worst violations of code, safety and commonsense that has been posted here!

It just amazes me, did a Power company put the seal on this?????

Even if someone had some seals (I do [Linked Image]) you would think the meter reader would take note.

I would be afraid to touch this at all, for fear of shocks or causing it to 'light up'!

I do not think we are looking at liquid-tight unless the plastic all melted off, (very possible) I think it is FMC entering into a SS EMT connector!

[Linked Image]

I wonder if there is a bonding busing on that FMC/EMT adapter......?

Like it would help [Linked Image]

As for the 'missing ring' this at least is a 'ring-less' meter socket, in my area these have been required for quite awhile. They are much more secure than the ring type especially if the POCO puts their lock on the cover.

Now is the meter itself upside down?

[Linked Image]

I can not tell, I really wonder which way it spins, do they get a bill or a credit each month?

This should really be reported to the AHJ and the power company.

Still shaking my head....right on a public sidewalk. [Linked Image]

I took me several looks to realise what the "upside down" remark was all about...
I believe that the meter pan is upside-down; at the bottom of the can is what appears to be the top piece of a Nema-3R can.
(It was probably put in that way because that's where the hub is)

Upside Down - Absolutely- it's a Cutler- Hammmer In the USA - I don't think so. I believe:
It's Argentina. "CPE" as on the new meter is the Cooperativo Popular de Electricidad. The old meter would have been unreadable due to smoke damage.
No Code, no violation.

The sign painted on the window has an accent over the "o"; the "7" has a bar across it. Therefore, I surmise that that picture probably isn't from the United States.
