One of the things i love about ECN is the way we all look at something as serious as a massive transformer fire,
and then start blaming trhe poor unfortunate outworlders.

It wasnt there fault,, honest,

lol;

No offense meant to them, but the Pfeldorgæn diplomats command of the English language makes me laugh every time they try. ﻻ¨¨¤¬¼ï¬ï¨¤ﻻ¨ and his little brother just crack me up! (It must be hard to talk to earthlings with your vocal cords in all seven toes.)

I would suspect that the bushings were in-adequate for the Xformer.
But, the Air-Forced cooling should have been
shut-down sooner, this would have lessened the damage.

The web site http://www.powerlineman.com/

(Aimed at those who are associated with the electric power industry)

has a section called "Downloads."

They have a video clip of a pole fire as well as a video clip of a transformer failure.

Note that the files range from 3MB to 5MB depending on which version you decide to download.

Oh, so THAT'S why the power has been out for so long....

So the deluge system could be designed to douse flammable equipment yet remain invulnerable to falling objects ??

Good for our newer members to have a look at this massive fire damage.
