Reminds me of the time that a 600 ft pull of 3 1/0s+#1G went bad... I wanted to pull the $1500 worth of Cu out... The GC wanted to dig out the 90, Cut it, pull and recouple the pipe. He went to the truck and pulled out some sewer pipe couplers, the rubber kind. I told them I could have no part of it, and would not be responsible, turned around, and walked to my truck to get a disclaimer form. I wonder how tight the conductors were bent, and how badly skinned, but I can tell a judge that I never saw it happen. I bet water leaks into the panel too...

What is that stuff they used? To me, it looks like the pipe you use on a car to couple the warm-air intake on the carb to the shield around the exhaust header.

Maybe there's a clothes dryer in there.

I kinda agree with EScott: looks like the exhaust vent from a clothes dryer. Question: what are the other two cables entering the j-box? Almost looks like service entrance cable to me...(?)

I also wonder if that is a fire wall...?

Long ago, when I was an apprentice, I was told anyone can do a job if he or she has all the right tools and parts; but, it takes a real journeyman/craftsman to improvise and complete the job when any of these things are lacking.

Nah!! I don’t think this is what he had in mind.

Judging from what appears to be 4/0 SER coming out of the box, I would put money that that the ultra flex conduit is 4" flexible metal duct. Looked into my code book and didn't see a chart on 4"FMD. If any one has a chart showing cross sectional area of dryer duct let me know.

The Flex is Metal dryer vent hose, The 4/0 SER is the Line side comming down from MDP about 100' down the hall , clipped to the concrete above , I do have a pic of that ,it was a gem of a job , but I figured this was enough , The Pvc runs out and under ground to the other building ,
The part is being torn down , but to know someone did this is enough ,
Yesterday , I found a service 100 A , has 2" cond with 100 meter socket ( NO by-pass , which is required ) #2's feeding a panel with a 200 A main , and the drop crossed a parking lot and had a drip loop that was at about 8' from the ground , not to mention all the pipe only had about 2 clips in it .
Oh and let's not forget there was NO PERMIT!

I don't have enough time to post all the stuff I have in my note book called " Hall Of Shame" which gets about 5 entries a week !!!
