While we've all seen garage doors powered by extension cords, I think this guy added a few flourishes of his own.

Please don't tell me "electrical wiring" was the cause of the fire.

Thanks, Larry; I should have been more explicit.

The fire was caused by a pan of cooking oil being left unattended on the range. The fire damage was limited to the kitchen / dining area.
Three cheers for solid brick interior walls!

That reaks. Think of the voltage drop there. Also, NO GROUND! That is definately not how this should be done.
