After making a point of defining proper clearances, and being assured that no problems would arise, the customer called and wants this hooked up. 100A, 480V

How about if they told you:
"It's OK, we already have a final inspection, it won't be a problem"
(What kind of inspector would give them a final without the installation of a "full blast" boiler?).
A crummy one...And yes I'm mad, again...S

If the local inspector doesn't give a d@#$, maybe you could get OSHA interested. With that company's attitude, there might be some other "interesting" things around.
