This is a perfect example of why I have no love for IT types. Doesn't matter how neat and organized you make it for them, after they get done this is what it always looks like.
Unfortunately they don't teach neatness in those Microsoft certification courses. These guys need to learn how to get their hands dirty. Lose the white shirt and tie and carry more than that little tool case!

Jeez Hal, that's an awful broad brush you paint with.

Although I am required to wear a white shirt, I get them so dirty the uniform company has to replace them every 6 months. No tie required here, thank God, and I have thousands of dollars invested in tools as I'm sure you do. I don't even try to carry them all at once.

It doesn't "always" look like that. Neatness isn't taught; you either work that way or you don't as evidenced by the "Violation Photo Forum" and the "Photos Submitted For Discussion" sections on this board.

The first six photos are either designed/ built or maintained by myself. The seventh is not at my company, but I assisted on it as a side job. The sixth picture did not turn out well. It's a Hughes Network Systems remote training console that allows live interactive training of our employees via satellite.

Gene,
Those are very clean jobs. Bravo!
I run into some very clean IT work, as well as the messy stuff. It's a pleasure to work in the good ones, and can be a nightmare to be working any where near the bad ones.
