I think you are mistaken.

I'm pretty sure that is a metel jacketed flexable lawn sprinkler line attached with a saddle valve to the water pipe. [Linked Image]

Is the GEC inside that armored cable or is it being used as the GEC? What's the intent of all this mess?

I don't believe photos like this. Who does this kind of stuff? Joe we all know these photos are staged in your backyard just to make us think. [Linked Image]

No this was not staged, but for real behind a strip mall near Disney Land.

This was a GEC in armor that was run from another service or transformer on the same property?

When I go there again, and if I can find it again, I will update the picture because it is probably the same way, unless someone stole the entire run to take to the junkyard.

Doesn't each separate building have to have its own separate ground rod as long as they're not electrically inter-connected?
