I believe all of the manufacturer's have "premium" efficiency motors that meet the energy standards. I think that the normal motor is about 90 to 92% efficient and the "premiums" can be about 95%. It doesn't sound like much, but over the life of the motor it can make a big difference in energy costs. Of the total cost of a motor over its life, about 97% is the energy cost to operate the motor.
