I'm wiring a new MRI room at a local hospital.A company was hired to provide a steel shield around the entire room.No part of this shield is permitted to be grounded. They install several RF filters and all of the electrical in the room is required to be fed through these. There are only two wires coming out of each filter. They told me to provide a non-metallic fitting on each filter to begin my work inside the room to isolate the conduit from the shield. They installed a 1/2" threaded rod through the shield and told me to attach a ground bus to it.This seems very wrong to me.Has anyone ever seen an installation like this?
