I've seen this go both ways. Some inspectors will maintain that your wiring method is for consealed wiring. The boxes you've used are for consealed wiring. The code allows NM cable for consealed and exposed installation (334.10(A). The issue could be physical protection [Linked Image]. Some inspectors don't approve horizontal NM cable in wall studs because of potential storage of things and hanging of things on the cable. That same inspector will allow NM cable in the floor joist in the basement. Must be a double standard. Naw, Inspectors don't have double standards.
