Hello, I've got a request for a design (600V welding plugs that I'm having some trouble with.

The design calls for having 8 welding plugs available. The intent is that no more than two of these plugs be used at the same time. The request calls for 60 A plugs

I believe that the overcurrent protection for this system (in accordance with Canadian Electrical code Section 42-006 Sub 2) should be 256 Amps which would require 250 AWG wire.

This seems like an awful waste, as the intent is to run two welders max, but I'm not aware of any provisions that let you rate your welding supply based on intent.

Has anyone ran across a problem like this?

Thanks, Brad.
