Feels like I'm walking in Joe T's footsteps.

Now only if I could figure out why the pics are sideways??

Phones usually shoot pictures sideways. They are "portrait" and PCs are landscape. Some software can fix that on the fly or you can put it in a photo editor and rotate it.

What's wrong with that?

Plenty of working space wink

Transitioning from PVC to Sealtite -- all that is needed is a threaded coupling and a T/A on the PVC.

The entire layout is weird. In my neck of the woods, the disco is always mounted directly on the structure (residential) with a whip coming out. (Usually cheesy Greenfield.)

Of course, the disco could've just been slapped on top of the PVC stub out. The extra height -- and work -- are a dead loss.

I agree, this whole mess was just ugly. I imagine they decided the only way to get working clearance from a wall mounted disco would mean cutting down that bush and the homeowner wasn't going for it. I am still not sure I would OK it hanging on the machine. (110.3(B)?)
Every condenser book I have seen says "do not install the switch on the unit, " (from the Goodman book. that is what this one looks like)
Maybe a post?
Of course the 1900 box is just a cherry on top.

The unit could be a American Standard / Trane, which in my opinion are just good scrap metal because of the louvers over the coils & the way they are designed, it makes them VERY difficult to clean the coils. Hate those junkers.

This is an old apartment complex. No permits, no inspections. (Obviously)

I saw this walking thru the complex on a response to a call from the FD.

There are many of these HVAC installs in a few apt/condo complexes that are worthy of pics.
