In 2003 Local Law 81/2003 was passed to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the electrical code.

Subsequent legislation allowed for a New Code through the enactment of amendments to the adopted 2002 edition of the National Fire Protection Association's National Electrical Code (NEC) NFPA 70.

The amendments adapt to the national standards and reflect the special requirements of building construction in the city of New York.

These changes will be known as the New York City Amendments to the 2002 National Electrical Code.

Together with the NFPA's 2002 NEC, these amendments constitute the unique technical standards of the New York City Electrical Code.

Effective date: January 1,2004

I will appreciate any information on the availability of the amendments when they become available.

The previous 1999 amendments were available for download.
