Hello all.
we have quite a few "brownouts" ( low voltage from power co,)due to weather, during the course of a year.
I have a customer that owns a small tavern & rest. his panel is quite a distance from the bar & he can't get to the panel to shut off power to compressors very fast.
would like to have a device to monitor & disconnect power during Brownouts.
Anyone have any ideas.....thanks Chuck

I know that there are relays that monitor voltage, especially for 3 phase. These could be wired to a contactor for the equipment or maybe to a relay placed in the control circuit. Or, if he's got some serious bucks, install shunt trip breakers & wire them into the low voltage sensor.

TimeMark, ASCO & many others make this type of relay, check with your local electrical supply house.

I have used the PLC-240K6-44T relay on pumps and chillers. It is not designed for a panel but will protect individual equipment.
Just wire it into the control circuit.
