One of my customers is a plumber / builder.
He was not happy with a recent price increase, but he seems to understand.
Does anyone know if copper pipe has increased as sharply as copper cables?

My plumber friend says that he's in the same boat as we are.

He's raised his new resi rough bid prices from $650 a fixture to $900, his bids are valid for 1 day.and he calls for his copper prices daily.

electure,

Thanks buddy!

I was feeling a little "leaned-on". Now I know he is fully aware of the reality of copper prices. He is fairly successful, and I'm sure he is raising his prices accordingly.

A few months ago I bought a bunch of 3/4" copper for 64.00/C and Friday I was paying 108.00/C. Fittings are just as rediculous. 1" tees are about $6 now...

I just checked the local Home depot web site
type " M" ( medium wall)
1" --> $ 33..4
3/4 --> $ 18.53
1/2" --> $ 12.00

these are 10' lengths
.
Type " L" ( thin Wall ) is a liitle less
But being an electrician I'm not real sure of the difference. (I used plastic when I built my house )

Ya I was going to say $95 for a single length of 1/2" copper??? Something isnt right....

If I remember I will look at Home depot tonight and see what the various sizes are worth where I am.... I am in need of some
1 1/2" copper and fittings for my pool.. Last I saw I think it was $34 Canadian for a 12 foot length... I will look and see what the smaller sizes are though...

Lucky,

"M" is thinwall.
"L" is medium.
"K" is heavy.

Since they tend to sell a lot of "M" for residential use, it may be that "M" is at the current price, and the "L" was stocked when it was less expensive. (I almost wrote "cheaper," but that word somehow doesn't seem to fit .)
