I had to chase down a hydronic Intertherm;
which led me to Cadet once.

this part of your link speaks volumes;

At its peak during the Carter administration, the commission had a staff of 978. But the agency's budget was slashed in half during the Reagan years. It has never recovered. Today it has 480 employees.
