Is anyone familiar with the testing method to check that 25 ohms or less are at the ground rods. Here on L.I., we have a single ground rod as a supplement to the main water pipe. Has anyone used a clamp on style meter to check grounds? Are the 3,4 type terminal testers better?
Thanks

I have used the clamp on with pretty good success. You have to clamp on at the last ground to the ground rod. The meter I use is made by AMEC and it will read 0.7 ohms if you have not connected on the last lead. The 3, 4 terminal testers are good but if you are just seeing if you are below 25 ohms, the clamp on is easier.

Thank you for the pages on the Ground Test. It's an area that I would like to be more educated about. I appreciate both inputs.
