Just a question for thought. Everyone is familiar with the 10-30R 125/250V receptacle, the old dryer outlet. It seems to me that the 2003 code made this configuration obsolete. Any equipment plugged into this receptacle would not be grounded since it is no longer legal to ground non-current carrying metal parts to the grounded conductor. Does anyone know of anything that it could be used for except replacement of existing dryer receptacles? Just something that occurred to me.
