I've never seen the Code written in anything other than English (and I'm sure many would argue that "Codese" isn't English at all, although they all are English words).
Has it ever been translated into other languages??
I can foresee some possible trouble brewing here on the Western Front in "politically correct" CA.

Check NFPA's web site , they have been translating the NEC for quite some time. The first translation of the 96 NEC supports your comments.
