I have a large water pump ( 400 hp) and it is 50' down a pit the cables ar pre insttalled and ran to the to the top where they enter a junction box. Here they run to a MCC in another room.
My question is do these pumps need an isolating switch is it okay because the MCC is bucket si capable of being locked off?
Engineer claims it is okay, I am not so sure since the MCC is not in sight?
