Here is the newest addition to our family!!!
She is a Hen Duck - Breed is unknown. Looks like a mix between Gadwall, Mottled Duck , Widgeon and Mallard, so if anyone knows for sure, please chime in!

She is a really neat addition to our family!

We got her from a Pet Store, at the ripe old age of 2 days old!

Someone had found her separated from the rest of her family, and thought she was abandoned - so they brought her to the Pet Store.
The Clown in charge of the Pet Store figured she did not need any Water, and she would be OK in a fish tank (I start ranting here, so will stop).
Nevertheless, I adopted her immediately. My Wife and I rushed her home, got her Hydrated, kept careful watch over her all night, all the next day and all the next night - which resulted in a completely healthy and happy Duck!

Just thought you all would like to see a happy story + change of pace!

Job well done Scott.

Good on you and your wife to provide a start in life for a little duckling.

Congratulations Scott

The first couple of months are the easiest. Just wait till she starts to stay out late, asks to borrow the car, and bringing back male ducks to meet daddy. \:D

Huh...a pet duck. Neat, looks like they would be nice to have. Are they inside/outside? Potty trained? Do you have a pool for them? Or pond eg;
