Anyone ever extend this or recycle an employee to start over again?

Or did you just get rid of them?

One other question, does the law state 90 working days, or 90 calander days.

I don't know anything about a 90 day law, not in NJ anyway.

Businesses often have a probationary period when they can get rid of you for no reason. Truth is, they can get rid of you at any time for any reason (unless you have a contract that states otherwise).

I always thought it should be called a 90 day trial period. The person's not on probation, just being tried out for the job.

And unless you have a union or other contract that restricts this, keep an employee as long as he's good for your bottom line (and mental health). As soon as he isn't, get rid of him.

States vary on there DOL laws...NJ, for example is a "work at will" state - meaning as quickly as you as hired, you can be fired ( a collective bargining agreement being the exception) for NO reason. Some states are a "right to work", and will follow different rules.
Simply put, you need to know YOUR state's labor laws AND YOUR contracts signed in regards to employment.
As I am in NJ...and don't know where you are...I have no answer set in stone (unless you're from NJ)
