THE ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUTHORITY WARNS THE CONSUMERS OF POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY HAZARD ASSOCIATED WITH THE ANIMATED OCEAN LAMP

Toronto, ON –The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is notifying consumers about electrical safety issues associated with a non-certified Animated Ocean Lamp being sold at Giant Tiger stores, The Bargain! Shop stores, kiosks located in shopping malls and other channels.

The product is identified as an AQUARIUM or LIVING DOLPHINS Animated Ocean Lamp. These lamps have been manufactured in China. The products have not been tested by a recognized certification agency and do not bear a certification mark. Preliminary investigation identifies that this product overheats and poses a fire hazard.

To date, there have been two reported incidents associated with this product in Ontario.

The Electrical Safety Authority encourages consumers to stop using this product immediately.

Giant Tiger and The Bargain! Shop stores have removed all products in question from shelves and are asking consumers who have purchased this product from their stores to return it for full refund.
