We've had several discussions relating to telephones in the the past, so as it's quiet in here at the moment I thought I'd revive this topic.

I finally had a little spare time a few days ago, so I rigged up a phone patch and put together a short demonstration of what the modern British system sounds like, from basic calls through to the engineering test systems.

It's an MP3 recording, so if anyone wants to hear it, let me know on this thread or drop me an e-mail and I'll forward it to you.

WARNING: The file is approx. 13.6MB, so allow plenty of download time. (OK for you broadband guys..... ).

Arend,

I don't have the file on a URL -- I'll have to send it via e-mail. Would you like me to use the address on your webpage?

If you want me to send to a different address that you don't want made public, click on the little icon at the top of my post to see my e-mail address. It's the icon which looks like this:

Wouldn't mind letting me see what you got Paul?

Send it to ryan@jcra.net... And I'll give it a little space on the web

Ryan,
Thanks for that. I can't get the link to work though. I've edited out the extra "." that had crept in at the end of the filename, but it's still not working.
