Hey guys,
It has become an in-joke in the Chat Area about me having a button that I press when I have to run off to a Fire Call.
Being a Volunteer FF, I can't help it, if the pager goes off I also have to go.
But the reason for this post is:
I have a new USB keyboard and I was wondering if I could programme one of the F keys to input to the Chat area, to say "I'm off Fire-Call, back soon".
Is this possible?
Please could I have some input on this subject?
I am sick and tired of being the butt of a joke!. [Linked Image]
But, how are these keys programmed?.

There should be a software utility that came with your keyboard that allows you to customize it. Normally, the keyboard sends a single code and the driver in the computer decides what to do with it.
