Hi all,
For those of you that use Firefox, I found a really good download manager, called Down Them All that works within your FF web browser.
Now I'm on a very slow broadband connection here and downloads of anything over 8 or 9MB used to take for ever, with blinding speeds of up to 15kbps, now that I've installed this download manager, I'm getting a maximum speed of around 250kbps.
Now I'm not sure how it is that this works, but it does.
Check it out: Down Them All Extension

I love Firefox. One of the nice things is that you can have multiple pages open as tabs across the top of your Firefox page. They also have lots of great add-ons, like typical spell checking, etc., and a great assortment of smilies. Once you look through their add-ons (plug-ins), you'll see that they have a lot out there. They also do a really good job of blocking pop-ups.

Another item about Firefox it is compatible with some sites for viewing videos that explorer is not welcomed on so to speak. Firefox also has a very fast and friendly download helper that I have been very happy with.

Pros:
tabbed browsing
better w3 standards compliance than IE
puts pressure on MS and others to produce a better browser
and standards compliant websites by the non-use of IE
better security
pop up ad blocker
interesting skins if you like eye candy
better bugfix cycle/update release cycle
no MSN crap in favorites or toolbar
capable of restoring entire session if browser crashes (no lost webpages or re-typing them)
Free but worth money (unlike MS-Free which is merely worth the price you paid)
some websites designed to recognize your name and browser version
are not capable of determining browser type when you use firefox which
tells me firefox does not dish out your personal information to websites out the back door without your knowledge. IE is capable of giving a properly designed website much more information about you and your computer than your IE version and today's date...

Cons:
some sites still only work with IE
is not the de facto standard (like IE) but likely will be inside 2 years

I like the plugins manager; when you come across a site that needs a plugin you don't have, it has a wizard that takes you through 2-3 steps to install it.

I also like that everything is handled the same way across platforms; I can easily transfer my favorites and settings between my PC and Mac computers.
