I was told OSHA has adopted 70E arc Flash. I know before you could be written up by the General Clause (OSHA). If its true can someone point me to a Web site that says so.??

OSHA adopted the installation requirements from the 70E on 8/13/07. The safe work practices and PPE requirements sections have not yet been adopted but will happen soon.

As for now, stil the old general duty clause will get you, but it is becoming more common.

I see you are in Michigan, MIOSHA has not adopted any 70E stuff yet. The MIOSHA webpage is the place to find your answers.

"Between five and 10 times a day, an arc flash explosion occurs in electric equipment somewhere in the United States that sends a burn victim to a special burn center, according to statistics compiled by CapSchell, Inc., a Chicago-based research and consulting firm that specializes in preventing workplace injuries and deaths.
That number does not include cases sent to regular hospitals and clinics, or unreported cases and “near misses,” estimated to be many times that number. There are one or two deaths a day from these multi-trauma events, noted Dr. Mary Capelli-Schellpfeffer, principal investigator.

The above quote is from an article in Maintenance Technology magazine titled "The Dangers of Arc Flash Incidents".

All too often we get a little lax in our procedures thinking I know what I am doing and cut corners. It is info like this, reports, and pictures helps me to keep an eye on the big picture at all time. I hope it does the same for others.

I had a employer who would call me a sissy when I go shut the power off for something little. Each time I told him, "Yeah but I going to be a live one." Safety first, always

Dr. Mary Capelli-Schellpfeffer is a key developer in the NFPA 70E. I have seen her speak several times and read many of her papers, she is a leader in this industry.
