I can't say that I know a lot about this sort of thing.
But, can anyone recommend a good program for Voice Recognition?.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hey Mike...

I've used both Dragon and ViaVoice recognition programs and both work fairly well. Dragon is a little more forgiving on pronunciation.

You just have to make sure that you speak relatively slowly. One good thing is that both programs use a "training" mode to train the program to recognize your pronunciation of words.

Try these links:

Hope this helps. [Linked Image]

Oh no!, now that could be a problem, have you ever heard how us Kiwi's talk?.
I hope that the software can learn a few new words too!.
People from "out of town" are constantly telling us to slow down when we speak. [Linked Image]

Mike,
I don't have any problem at all recognizing your voice over the phone.

Why do you?? [Linked Image]

You're welcome Mike.

BTW. I should add that I've only used the "standard" versions of these programs. So, I would expect (maybe incorrectly) that if you spent the big bucks, you would get more accurate voice recognition. This is probably one of those... you get what you pay for scenarios. [Linked Image]

The standard versions (as well as the more pricey versions) do provide for "new" words. Which, I would suspect would be particularly useful for a "non-US" English speaking user. [Linked Image]
