Every now and then, someone asks if it's OK to hang conduit from a fence. Here is a pic of such an installation.

IMC (intermediate) was used- 3/4 size, use 1" bender- and it was attached using Minerallacs. Fence top is about 6 ft. high. Area is used for parking RV's at a dealership.

Y'know, back in my young, stupid days I did this once. Right at bumper height . At a car dealership. Yeah.

Has the driver of the car, pic 1, got a plank nailed to his head?

I did a job for a buddy 2 years ago in Chicago where the previous owner of the 2 (3rd added) unit apartment had run power to the garage via 40' of EMT strapped to 'el cheapo' wood panel fencing.

1st good windstorm dropped a panel - and 3 lengths of EMT. He must've scrounged the wires from somewhere, or had a buddy/brother-in-law/cousing who "knew 'lectric stuff". Turns out the whole place is wired in the "rainbow" conductor ID scheme.

Replaced it with a run of rigid 24" underneath the flower beds next to the driveway.

Told him he should upgrade - he's got my number, and polans to re-do everyhting this year.
