On another forum I frequent another members signature is this.

"I am absolutely amazed sometimes by how much thought goes into doing things wrong"

In my mind that fits this picture perfectly.

Is this a new form of a dimmer...where you just allow a small amount of electric to squeeze thru the conduit?

OTKB

Over-The-Knee-Bend (Extra short radius)

Couldn't get enough sweep to enter the box... Just use the KO in the cover, with this handy do-dad. Its the type of thinking that makes your eyes cross.

Looks like somebody decided it was far too much trouble to break into the conduit and do the job properly, and this was the quickest way to get the light operational.

The job wasn't started at 4 p.m. on a Friday by any chance, was it? [Linked Image]

Well my understanding is that the light that was there before was just a lampholder and a bulb. (Just by looking around).

I'm betting this was done by a building "maintenance" person who had a spare flourescent fixture and bought some supplies at home depot (or similar). I seriously wonder if there's a peice of NM cable in the conduit...

I must not be as creative as I think I am because I never think of using flex connectors with EMT.

Apparently it is common.

Here is a 1/2" EMT to 1/2" flex change over or 'baldy' someone found a new use for to change from 3/4" EMT to 1/2" EMT in the middle of the run.
