I take back everything nice I said about the rockers on this commercial job. They also rocked over two outlets. At least they roll the paint so I can identify the wires.

Oh, it doesn't look that bad. You could find it right?

One question though, the purple wire?

Here that's a high leg.

Different drum, different band all together sometimes! Love this town though. Can't understand the purple thing though.

So, Dave what is your purple for?

Oh, I have a method for finding missing boxes... A big F&*&in' hammer! Or, tell them to find it!

Reason number 43 why I don't do New Residential Construction.
Saw an interesting item in the mail last week that may be a help for this.
Re-usable metal covers that are installed after the rough, & protect the wires, boxes etc from the "Rockers"

Purple is in the same category as red, blue, brown, black, yellow, etc. It's for a receptacle circuit in this photo, probably a left-over from a roll used for travellers, or home runs.

It's a commercial office. I still do residential, but rarely new residential (low-bid/cheap wiring factor), and I'm limiting the attic work as much as possible.

The metal covers sound interesting. Do they make one with a 3" nail so the rockers can see there's an outlet there?

A standard Handy box cover works great on single gang plasterring for a protective cover.

I like the handy box cover idea! And the 3" spike idea too. Maybe a Handy Box cover, with a 3" spike... Sounds like a money maker.

Arrrrrgh! I hate when sheetrockers cover a box or slice through a wire inside the box with a router. Pigtailing a wire that got sliced isnt always too bad though unless you have only an inch or so to work with. But sometimes a buried box is a little more challenging to look for, especially since the overspray from the painters is all over the foundation and you cant even find the marks that were originally crayon'ed in the boxing stage.
