If it is not clear it says;

Quote
THIS SHIPPING BRACKET SHOULD BE
REMOVED BEFORE ENERGIZING TRANSFORMER

The original installer must have thought that it was only a recommendation.

Looks like it should read "This shipping bracket must be removed before energizing transformer"!!! What type of fault did this create? (Pri to Sec, Pri to G, Sec to G, Pri to Pri, etc..?)

Randy all I know is it took out a fuse and a breaker on the primary side.

I did not see the transformer.

I'm amazed by the number of screwups that could so easily be prevented if someone would just pay the slightest amount of attention to the labels and instructions.

Kinda funny talking about labels & instructions... I hooked up a jacuzzi today & there were labels all over the thing calling for "minimum #6 AWG conductors"... Yet the nameplate only called for 40A & a 50A 240V breaker w/ GFCI protection... So I did as it said.. With all the heaters & pumps going, it only metered at 34.6A.
