This utility pole has been like this for at least a year. Though difficult to see, there is a board (yellow arrow points to the top of it) that is tied to the pole with rope. Photo #2 shows that there is not a whole lot of room to place a new pole. Photo #3 shows what is at the top--at least a few thousand volts.

What I also didn't get in the photo was on the pole, the opposite side of the board, which is cracked. I'm not sure if the pole was hit by a vehicle or if it just started to break on its own.

P. S. Those coils of cable at the top are all over the place around here. Anybody know what purpose they serve? They are either fiber or copper (telco stuff).

I have a hard time believing that what looks from here like a 2x4 & some rope is going to keep that pole together... This looks like someplace in the northeast, making those lines subject to icing & excess weight on top of the wire & arm assemblies... Keep an eye on this pole Thinkgood.... I curious which way it's goona go [Linked Image] -Randy
