Here are a few photos I took recently on a job we are commissioning. They are not all CODE violations, but are issues I found needing to be changed at the least. Hope you find them as interesting as I did.

Photo #1: Any idea what that wire tied to the pipework with string is for?

Photo #2: Is there anything in codes to make this a violation? Certainly not good common sense.

Photos #7 & 8: Taking the scenic route? [Linked Image]

Cubby,
Please keep on taking pictures, and posting them!
Lots of these larger jobs have so many messups that you could wear your camera finger out...Then they get approved, and the unsuspecting public is stuck with the consequences...
GREAT WORK!!...S
re: the "transition box" that mustbe relocated, I don't see a ground wire in each of those conduits...Aren't they needed?

How would you go about having these issues you feel need changing addressed?

Are you a NEC inspector or a building owner rep with some specifications in hand?

Maybe I am missing something but I see very few code violations.

I see some sloppy work and a undersized box.

The water coming out of the conduit is probably not from poor electric work but poor plumbing work.

Can anyone point out some true violations that a NEC inspector could do something about?

This is why it is so important on larger jobs to have engineers on board with specifications that exceed the NEC and the power to enforce them.

You have to admit, though (except for that pesky 360 rule) that the bends in # 7 are close to being artwork [Linked Image]
