The first photo is of the "new" panel, a 6 circuit, 3R, MLO. Not nearly enough room for the mobile home, let alone the addition to said mobile home and the circuits required. It was replaced with a 22 space 100 A with Main CB

The second pic is a close-up showing the conductor shorted to the meter base frame

[Linked Image]

The third photo shows the cut neutral strands so the conductor would fit into the 100 Meter base that was here before the inspection and was "repaired" with a 200A before I came along.

Photo #4 shows the modified dead front for the 3R 200A Panel, very sharp and jagged too.

Photo #5 is another shot of the meterbase "before"...

[Linked Image]

The 6th photo is the after pic of the meterbase, just for comparison.

Not shown, open splices, cut cables, loose acorns on the ground rods, no back-fill on the conduit (and too shallow), no treated lumber, and snakes and bugs galore....

All this and a little yippy, biting dog...

I come across cut strands so that a large wire can be jammed into a smaller terminal all the time. [Linked Image]

Can I apply to become an inspector?? I've been drooling over those nice WV real estate listings again! [Linked Image]

they cut up the outside cover of a 3R panel????

Steve, the "inside" cover was cut, apparently it was for an 8 circuit feed-through disco, but it's a 20 circuit 3R panel. The outside cover is intact, but was removed for the pix. I think Joe T. had mentioned a code reference at one time dealing with modification of equipment... but I can find neither the post nor the code article... Any help out there? I have report to do on this job, a local church/radio station paid me to do the "rescue work" and they want to know where the money went.

Paul, we could use ya! Lot's of nice, cheap places to live too!

On the gilded certificate—we all could use more Y2K kindling, eh?

On the first photos, the original master installer/used-car salesman could claim, "Easy Wiggy Contact Points!" Oh, and “Fully Complies with the Americans With Disabilities Act, Including Easy Wheelchair Access”.
