Found this recently, the wire coming down from the GFCI is feeding a

Motion Sensor about 30 feet away. What do you think of that Cover?

Kinda like the "two pairs of identically unmatched socks" phenomenon... The same guy probably installed a vertical box with a horizontal cover the next day...

This photo has a bunch of bad stuff,:
1. It looks to be feed by romex over the wall surface.
2. Not only is the cover the wrong orientation, it is the wrong type. It should be a constant use type that covers the cord set also.
3. The romex is not secured very well around the corner of the wall.
4. I will give the person one thing it appears to be a GFIC outlet!!!!

Is there a box at all? That appears to be a decking screw holding the cover in place...

(OK I'm cheating, I read the thread on Mike Holt's BB..)

rhagfo,

I'm not sure if that was Romex or UF, it was wrong eitherway so I didn't take notice. Everytime I see a situation like this with the cover in the wrong orientation I wonder about the attitude or competancy of it's installer.

'66,

I don't know if there was a box under this, I didn't look, but the cover doesn't look to be attached to it.
