Before I post anymore pics, I just have to say thanks to Bill for making it so easy for us to upload pics on our own.

A singlewide was abandoned and trashed by its owners (and its still sitting on the lot wrecked.) Here's how its shed was wired, UF cable through PVC in the ground which goes to a cord cap.


Here's the LB it comes from. Yes, the wire is cut off, and yes it's dead, as the trailer's service cord (a new term?) was stolen!

Here's underneath the old trailer, right where the breaker panel was. I think that AL ground wire is supposed to go somewhere, like under that siding-ground clamp.

Service cord going to panel in EMT, which was only held up by the locknut in the panel! The 10/3 NM (no, not UF) was hacked in by the previous handyman owner of the trailer.*


*Why is it that both houses I've lived (live) in have been hacked by handymen?!

Yeah, it complies, in some far off country. (This trailer was built before the name "manufactured home" was slapped on them, so I don't know the requirements for them to meet any codes.)

Thats really scary. what was the breaker rating on that 50? amp connector powering the house? Thanks for posting.

Ian, is this back in PA? I've heard Zinsco is a rare find back east...(That would be a positive thing!) Just as most trailer parks I've ever worked on or in... The only real improvement to make is to bring in the "CAT".

Randy: Yep, this is in PA, from what I've heard (read: ECN Chat room) Zinsco was common in the east for trailer pesestals and the like.

The improvements have already been made.

I've never seen a 100A Zinsco "skinny" breaker.. I think they went up to 60A. (Not that I have any faith a Zinsco 60 would trip at 100A anyways )

LoL Rollie.... Don't forget, we had Sierra electric until P&S bought and axed them... Also Lest we forget what hath the east coast bestowed upon us, FPE be thine headache.

FPE never was that popular here,plenty of Zinsco/Sylvania/Challanger though, and I do miss Sierra wallplates.....

That yellow cable looked pretty new, what did it go to?

That was actually one of those plug-in GFCI cords, since the pedestal had a regular duplex, and I needed to plug in three cords for the Christmas lights.
