I got the call that when they turned on the coach light the breaker would trip. I found out why after I cut a hole in the drywall and found the problem. The house next door was burnt by arson, and the builder paid somebody to fix this already. This house never caught on fire. The drywall was never pulled down to inspect any of the wiring behind it.

Good thing they had properly functioning circuit breakers.

This house never caught on fire.

It came close, though. Some of that wood definitely looks burnt.

Are those just bare conductors? shocked

Was this a duplex or townhouse? Just wondered.

MIKE: (TRUMPY)
Would say that there was a active fire in this area of this structure??

Char is very heavy; also looks like there is some 'new' lumber (3rd pic), like flooring.

it was a track house with about 20 feet in between houses.

they are bare conductors now they weren't before the fire damage.

The zip ties survived the fire.

There has been a lot of heat in there, looking at the indepth burning of the wood.
Amazing that the particular circuit didn't have problems before.
From the corrosion on the copper wires, there must have been some moisture in that wall space too.

What zip ties? confused
Posted By: jdevlin Re: Lights Tripping Breaker - 04/05/07 06:04 PM
I see what appears to zip tie in pic 2,3,4 holding the wire together at the double 2x4.

That actually looks to me, like a wire staple with bits of melted wire insulation dripped on it.

I think think you are probably correct since it still apears to be holding the wire to the charred wood.
