I go to the forums every day to see what's going on and I've always wanted to find something worth posting

I was recently in This (cottage?) and I found some things the first pick is of an 115V plug where a dehumidifier was plugged in I went to un plug it because it was keeping me up and the cord was hot I looked at the plug that it's in and the hole face of the top half of the plug was broken

the rest of the picks are of three different lights that hang only by the NMD with a junction box mounted inside a piece of wood

And you stayed for how long?? and you slept? Did you have any nightmares about bad wiring? I probably would have.

Is that 4" round box cut-out to fit the 2x4?

Violation is 110.3 (B)

Looks more like the 2x4s are notched to accept the box.

Ok, the guys with the really good memory....when was NM-B (Blue) around??

Wasn't the jacket color (blue) to signify that it was a 'new and improved' NM??

Darn, how soon we forget!

I've seen it on the late 70s/early 80s.

The local hardware has the new blue stuff now.

Judging by the stack of tapes, it could the of the 1970s type.

Oh. Even better. It's those cheap plastic versions of the ceiling lampholder fixtures instead of the good porcelaine type.

I've seen them when they - literally - burn out. Not pretty.

That white melamine plastic doesn't hold up to heat from a bulb very well, first it goes yellow, starts splitting, and eventually it carbonizes and crumbles away.

That's what the entire design of the room is screaming!

I LOVE that kind of modular shelving though when attached to a solid wall!
