What would really impress me is if he managed to screw the inner sleeve of the sealtite connector into the end of the mc. Nothing like a Helpy Helperton to get the job finished faster.

I note that there is a whopping great hole in the plywood where the (relatively) small MC comes through the wall.
Is there going to be something else bought through this hole?.
Or was the guy that drilled the hole a plumber?.

The plywood separates the front of the building from the framing that supports the false front, on to which the sign is mounted.
The hole, as well as the lower piece of MC, were placed there by the guy who installed the original sign. I, in turn, ran the pipe, and the lower box, to provide power to the sign.

Then the customer decided to make some improvements :-(

Scavenging a bracketed box, with the receptacles, from my parts pile (it had been used for temporary power during early construction), some MC and (the wrong) fitting, the customer added the upper mess to power an additional neon sign he was constricting. You WILL see more of this sigh, I promise!
You can't see it from here, but there is also an open KO on the top of the box.

The smaller box in the middle was placed by the general contractor, and located in a useless position. I don't like those little boxes, anyway.


Both the GC and the customer would dabble in electric work when I wasn't around. They also made all sorts of changes, without telling me. Some of you may recall a period a couple months back where I was not as cheerfull as usual- this job, and the stuff you see in this pic, was the reason why. It was truly trying.

I am having my revenge next Tuesday; I have arranged for every inspector in town to have a lunch meeting in this place- ought to be interesting!

I agree mate.
I hate it when customers offer to help.
They seem to think that it's not going to take you as long to do a certain job, if they do.
I just politely decline and say "I'm used to doing this by myself".
Truth of the matter is, I don't want them mucking up my standard of work or getting in my way.
