It looks like someone tried to stuff 10 pounds of Sh** in a 5 pound bag.

So THAT'S what happened to my bowl of polychromatic spaghetti!!!!

Someone must have read the term "Box Fill" backwards!

Hey, it's not full yet--there's still space to add several more conduits.

BTW, Those 2 large conduits that enter the back area of the box are crammed full....I am just sure they derated all those circuits.....

"Now which wire was it?"

It's the one with the red wire nut on it. [Linked Image]

"But it says right in my Ugly's that I can fit 176 #12 in a 2-1/2" EMT"

I have truly heard things like this many times. [Linked Image]

2 weeks ago I was at a restaurant (vacant at the moment) and in the kitchen I just found something like that: Except for the fact it didn't have a cover and every wire was covered with 30 years worth of grease and dust...

I was very relieved when I got the cover off of this one while tracing circuits. All of the conductors were numbered and the conduit entries and exits (53 of them + 1 M/C cable) were marked with their source and destinations! [Linked Image] My lucky day!

All I could think of before I got it open was this thread, and the picture Kent sent in. [Linked Image]

OTOH, anyone ever opened a ceiling j-box with {almost} all white home-run and “load” #12s wadded into a big splitbolt, with multiple “newer” neutrals split-bolted onto a pair of the older group’s #12s? [To boot, with no “white” splices taped.]
