At one commercial office, I noticed a receptacle in the wall behind the receptionists' desk. In the course of my other work, I opened the closet behind her, and found a neat, if unsupported, EMT run (with inaccessible pulling els). What really took the cake, however, was seeing just how this receptacle was fed- there was an extension cord in the EMT, a cord cap on the end, and it was plugged into another receptacle!

How did you avoid cracking a rib whilst laughing at this find.

It's amazing, the lengths some people will go to do something wrong.

I've seen plenty of extension cords run like this to feed a permanent outlet, but never run through conduit.

I second the question: Why???? [Linked Image]

I really have to praise Bill for his photo-shop work. Even I, the guy who took the pic, didn't notice until now that the final fitting is a flex 90 attached to the EMT!
