Seems that was a bad year for electrical work, many more of simular vintage out there.

Yeah who came up with that whole " Luminaires " thing ? Its just a light fitting for chrissakes.

I'm afraid you can blame my part of the world for that one. The term appeared in the 1980s. [Linked Image]

Until it was added into Article 100, the term was defined in the following fine print note in the 1999 NEC.

I thought luminaires were the rich sales rep's who push light fixtures.
