The missing cover can be easily corrected, but the rusty fitting in these runs of metal raceways, that show the affect of dampness and the possible heat from the piping systems used for that purpose leave me with a chill!

The code should call for a separate EGC in the form of a wire sized per Table 250.122 in cases like this one.

I applaud those who are in the design area when they make sure that this is done as a regular method.

Another example why a eg conductor should always be pulled. The only situation a raceway should be used as the ecg is maybe RMC installed in a dry location with no concentric or eccentric ko's. Even EMT is subject to loose joints because of vibration or poor installation.
I am in favor of having an equipment grounding conductor pulled... There have been extensive tests performed that show the different raceways to act as an EGC. The fact is in most and I repeat most instances when installed correctly, the raceways will perform as designed. This photo might be an exterior wall, if so where is 300.7(A) SEALING. ? If the proper sealing was installed, this may never have happened.
